Pengertian Simple Past Continuos Tense. What Is past continuos tense ? Past continuos is sentences that reveal events in the past but still ongoing : Artinya jadi past continous tense adalah kalimat yang mengungkapakan kejadian di masa lalu dan kejadianya sedang berlangsung

The formula of simple past continuos tense which consist of three ( Artinya simple past continuos terdiri atas 3 bagian yaitu :

1. Simple Past continuous in positive formula ; Subject + To be ( was or were) + Verb ing + object

example : She was fishing when i came ( artinya dia sedang memancing ketika saya datang )

explanation : in the example " she " is subject , " was " is to be and Fish+ing Is verb ing and i came is object

2. Simple Past continuous in negative formula : Subject + To be ( was or were ) + not + Verb ing + object

example : she was not fishing when i came

explanation : in the example the " not " and " verb ing " in the example of negative sentence is characteristic feature of negative in simple continuos tense

3. Simple Past Continuous in interrogative formula : was / were + subject + verb ing + object

example : was she fishing when i came?

expalnation : in the example the " was " in the first sentence  is the introgative characteristic feature, but you can chang into the were ;

Tips ; Are you confused in deciding tobe was or were? This is very simple if it was used for the subject: I, she, he, it and so on (subjet consists of 1) , And If it were used for the subject: they, them, and so on (the subject of more than 1 person examples: they)
